Talia is a private transportation platform connecting clients with their personal drivers. We take privacy seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
01
Who We Are
Talia ("we," "our," or "us") provides two iOS applications: Talia Ride for private clients and Talia Drive for personal drivers. Both applications are operated as a private platform — we do not operate a public rideshare marketplace.
Talia is built on Google Firebase infrastructure and is available exclusively on the Apple App Store.
02
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly when creating an account or using the apps:
- Account information — your name, email address, and phone number when you register.
- Profile information — for drivers: vehicle details, professional bio, payment handle(s). For clients: preferences and notes.
- Ride information — pickup and dropoff addresses, scheduled times, ride type, and any notes you provide when booking.
- Location data — precise GPS location while the app is in use (Ride app), and continuous background location while actively driving (Drive app only, with your explicit permission).
- Usage data — app interaction data collected by Firebase Analytics, used to improve the service.
03
How We Use Your Location
Location data is central to Talia's core functionality. Here is exactly how it is used:
- Talia Ride (clients) — your location is used only while the app is open, to suggest a pickup address and to display your position on the booking map. We never collect your location in the background.
- Talia Drive (drivers) — with your explicit "Always Allow" permission, your location is shared continuously while you have an active work day open. This allows clients to see your real-time position on their live tracking map during an active ride.
- Location is never sold — your location data is never sold to, shared with, or accessible by any third party outside of the private driver-client relationship within Talia.
Driver location sharing is entirely under the driver's control. Location streaming begins only when the driver opens their work day and stops immediately when they close it. You can also revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → Talia.
04
How We Store Your Data
All data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore, Firebase Authentication, and Firebase Storage), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Firebase provides:
- Encrypted data in transit — all communication between the app and Firebase uses TLS/HTTPS encryption.
- Encrypted data at rest — Firestore data is encrypted at rest by Google Cloud.
- Authentication security — account access is managed through Firebase Authentication with industry-standard security practices.
- Access controls — Firestore security rules ensure each user can only read and write their own data.
05
Third-Party Services
Talia uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Google Firebase — database, authentication, and cloud storage. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Apple MapKit & CoreLocation — maps, address search, and GPS. No location data is sent to Apple beyond standard iOS system usage.
- Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — for ride status notifications. No personal data is shared with Apple beyond standard notification delivery.
We do not use advertising networks, third-party analytics beyond Firebase, or any data brokers.
06
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- Between driver and client — when a connection is approved, the driver can see the client's name and contact info, and the client can see the driver's profile, vehicle details, and live location during active rides. This sharing is the core purpose of the app.
- Legal compliance — if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, we may disclose information as legally required.
07
Your Rights & Choices
- Access your data — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time.
- Delete your account — you may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us. Deletion is processed within 30 days.
- Location permissions — you can change or revoke location permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Talia.
- Notifications — you can disable push notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Talia.
08
Children's Privacy
Talia is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
09
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify users through the app. Continued use of Talia after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
